Ahhh, the Sims. A game that has been around forever and the developers have yet to listen to their customers. The Sims 4, the newest addition to the sims franchise is a simulation video game where you can create characters, dress them, have them get jobs, have families, go to school, and in some people's worlds, torture, has been neglected in the way of needing updates to fix important bug issues. When Maxis released the game, it was sitting at a whopping $50. Over time, they have released multiple expansion, game, and stuff packs to add to the diversity of the game. Now however, they've decided to release mini packs for specific things and not fix the major bug issues that has yet to be fixed. The developers of the Sims don't listen, and I find it sad. I play this game, and I know what people rage about, and I agree with the customers in that being ignored makes for a really bad play time.
Imagine sitting there, torturing Eliza Pancakes (one of the most hated Sims characters to date), and the game crashes because of something going wrong in the game. If you don't save, you lose all that progress, and is infuriating. The amount of times I rage when my game crashes makes me not want to play it because the bugs are interrupting gameplay. April 13th, devs decided to release a new update called Laundry List, and here is what a couple of people are saying about this new update to the game.

The devs are trying to sell the Sims 4 by creating all of these new packs, but yet they don't fix the already existing problems within the game. While the usage of social media reaches a lot of people, especially on facebook, twitter, and by word of mouth, they continue to gain buyers and people who love to play this game. It's not a bad game, just bad devs not listening to their buyers. I feel like if the devs actually spent a fair amount of time playing the game instead of developing the game and new packs for said game, they would see what needs to be fixed. Another game I play has a modded version and the creator of the mod is playing in his own world and is seeing things that are wrong with the mod that people complain about. He is now fixing those things, which have been broken for a while. If the Sims 4 developers would do the same things, I think a lot of problems would get solved and a lot of people would be happy. The developers of the game are trying to expand sales in my opinion by just leaving the major bugs and working on just packs. It's infuriating for us players and when we complain, we get nothing in return. No replies, nothing. When they respond to a big enough complaint, they always skate around the problem lying with them, and try to pin the problems onto the players, which can cause them to lose said players.
If I were the brand manager, I would be going to the developers and asking why these bugs have not been fixed yet. I would also try to respond to the players in a professional manner, but not place the blame on them, as it's not their faults the game is buggy. When you develop a game, you are supposed to beta test it and make sure that all the bugs that are known are fixed to an acceptable manner. If you don't do that, then why make a game at all? Listen to your people, they play the game for hours on end, they know what is wrong with the game, now it's up to you to fix it, not just let it stay there like it doesn't exist. It's an elephant in the room that no one likes to say, and I think it needs to be said more often. If they listen, then the game would be way better off.
I learned that I need to listen and keep my eyes and ears open to customers and what they are saying about things. This is partly why I try to read reviews on things that I am looking to buy. Customers know what is good and what is bad, and I think more companies need to pick up on that too.
